Weed Control

By their very definition weeds are a nuisance.  They undermine the desired effect of a healthy well manicured lawn.  Most weeds grow more vigorously than desired turf types requiring more frequent mowing as well as using up limited nutrients in the soil making it even more difficult to establish your desired turf.  Our weed control program incorporates ex post facto (post-emergence) (look Mom, big words) and a preventative (pre-emergence) method to break the life cycle of weeds while replenishing lost nutrients to your soils.

F.A.Q.

Q: How long do I need to stay off of the treated areas?
A: Until the area dries, and then limit exposure for 24-48 hours.

Q: Other companies use a dye, why don’t you?
A: We do, if we need it, but we don’t normally use it in our mix.  It stains concrete and fences and just looks weird.

Q: How many times a year do you treat the lawn.
A: We treat 6  times per a calendar year.

Q: I only want 4 applications per year.  Will you only do 4 applications?
A: No.  Not very long ago the EPA banned the use of a particular chemical that was very good at killing just about any weed after it had cropped up without damage your grass.  The multiple chemicals that are used to replace it are not as good and cause significantly more damage to your turf than the old one.  Since this chemical is no longer available for residential use it is very important to get all pre-emergent treatments to stop these weeds from ever coming up.

Q: You guys are so brilliant, funny, and handsome, why do you do lawn work.
A: Money :)…. oh, and we like it.

Q: Do I need to water after and application?
A: YES! Water heavily 24-48 hours after the application.
